Gun and NoteBook

I'm in meetings with Dr.GN Shrinivas (Solution Architect @ hp and my Mentor - who is known as "Gun") for my dissertation for the 4th and final semester @ BITS-PILANI since past few weeks. And we have decided to do something on the Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) which is based on the principle that anyone should be able to lookup for any services required from a pool and run their application system upon finding them - all happenning on the fly. This pay-per-usage strategy enables companies to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

He suggested having a laptop with 1GB RAM is necessary for this project and a demo at BITS at the end of the semester. Today, my PM gave me a Compaq nc6000 notebook (for the sake of history, it has 1.4GHz Centrino, 512MB,40GB,DVD/CD-RW, Bluetooth/IrDA/802.1b) and an official mobile phone - imagine my pleasant surprise at getting it without even asking for it - especially when my Mentor had mentioned at the afternoon discussion few hours before!
