Weekend aLIVE

Though this is still Sunday morning, I have already got the max out of this weekend - which actually started since Thursday evening itself. Apart from a Kannada play called "Samsaaradalli sarigama" which was hosted at Ravindra Kalakshetra back in the 90s, I must admit I've never really been to any LIVE event before this.

Friday evening - me and a collegue went to a watch 3 and half plays - which I must say was awesome - both the plays and the colorful crowd - more info here After 2 plays, there was a small break where I met one of the actress - wow, was she a beauty - and told her she was great! (But I forgot to ask for her know mind doesn't function at such times...) It was full paisa vasool for our 50 bucks...felt like I was back in School...literally sitting on the mat!

hpSaturday...HPIT DU Day
I had been there with my parents and Raghu who had come in that morning from Chennai. There were many fun stalls - Tattoo, Shooting, Caricature, Clubs, Painting the face, Astrology, Magic and others. Then the food - I must confess it was an unpleasant experience - to say the least. After-lunch events were kicked off inside the Kanteerava Stadium with internal-hp performances - dance, tabla, singing and all. The best was the dance by children of hp employees for the title track of "Dhoom". Then ofcourse - the moment we all had been waiting for - a Hindi Rock Concert by Euphoria. There is no word which can go ahead of awesome - so I'll stick to it. It was amazing to see the same energy from start to finish by the band, especially by the lead vocal artist Dr.Palash Sen with plenty of improvisations and witty remarks...they performed from their own albums along with other English & Hindi tracks. My favourites were "Dhum Phichak dhoom", "Kabhi aana tu meri gali" and above all, "Maayiri...yaad wo aayeri". Out-of-the-world experience!
After the 3-hour show, I even managed to meet Palash personally back stage and get this autograph...

And then today afternoon, it's going to be...
